2010 Sportsmen's Day

I'm still reflecting on yesterday. I thought the big thunderstorm Friday night and the rain and mud Saturday would keep many away. I was wrong. Sure, we had vendors cancel and some no shows, but the day went on, we had a good turnout, and there was great energy.

I'm proud of Wade Smith and his leadership team who stayed positive and upbeat throughout. Months of planning and hard work paid off. Sportsmen's Day really is a 1st rate event. As important as the event itself is the bonding formed among our men in the months and weeks leading up to the big day. There is no substitute for bonding among men than to get us out working and serving together.

I heard that we ended up selling 650 tickets. With yesterday's weather, that's a strong number.

A big thank you to the leadership team and the many men who served in order to make it possible.
