Widow Gathering Recap

I had a blast this past Tuesday with our widow group. We struck out on a little adventure and drove down to the Chase Tower downtown Houston and went up to the 60th floor viewing deck. I really want to lead our ladies to have an even greater heart for our city; afterall, this is where the Lord planted NEHBC. Our ladies are already very involved loving our city through ministry at Farrington Mission, but there is much more to Houston than serving the poor; there is Downtown. I prepared a prayer list and we stood on the viewing deck looking out over the city and prayed for spiritual awakening among the people, revival in our churches, biblical values to be cherished, the Lord's wisdom for our city leaders, protection for emergency responders, blessings on our schools, protection from terrorist attack, and much more. On our Greece mission trips we stand on Mars Hill and pray over Athens and then we stand at Paul's Gate and pray over Thessaloniki. We had the same experience this past Tuesday standing on the viewing deck overlooking Houston and praying for her. It was awesome. Afterwards, we went down into the tunnel system under the city and ate lunch at a fantastic Tex Mex restaurant. I love these ladies.
