Special Day in Worship Tomorrow

Both of NEHBC's worship leaders are experiencing medical challenges and have not been cleared to lead music tomorrow, so we are taking advantage of the opportunity to do something a little different. Tomorrow we will remember the martyrs of the Christian faith and in so doing put the glory of Christ on display--some of His followers have and are paying the ultimate price for the cause of Christ--what better evidence exists about His worth and credibility?

There will be no music except for the invitation. We will watch a couple of short videos. We will pray. We will have an extensive time of public Scripture reading. I will preach from Acts 7:54-8:4 on the martyrdom of Stephen, the first Christian martyr, and the parallels b/w his death and Christ's. We will reflect. We will remember. We will give thanks. We will be inspired. They are our brothers and sisters who willingly died for the Christ and the gospel.

I can't wait for tomorrow.
