Here's an update from our ministry leader for the food pantry:
"We had 54 families receive food on Sept. 20th. Boy, was it busy!
Food Needs: I only have a one week supply of rice and tuna and only a two week supply of mac & cheese and peanut butter. Although peaches, pears, and beans are in short supply, I'm waiting to see if the Houston Food Bank gets any in stock.
- Results of Growth: Even though the food pantry/clothing closet hours are 6-8 pm, when I arrive at 5 pm to start getting things ready for the evening, there are at least 5 families already there waiting for me to open the gate. By 5:30 pm, there are 15-20 families sitting in the gym. I believe the number of families who come to Farrington Mission is only going to get larger and so more volunteers are going to be needed in the near future... especially on Monday evenings (although I can always use more help on Monday mornings as well)."
