Nicole is gone for a couple of days and nights with friends for a much deserved break so it's just the kids and me at the house until Saturday night. We are having a great time together. I'm not good at the nurturing part of parenting, my role is father--teacher, provider, protector, discipline, and playing with them. I don't have the dispensation of grace and patience for nurturing that Nicole has as their mother; her role in our home is critical. After just one night, her absence is already noticeable; things are already not the same without her. We are all glad she is getting some time away, but we will be so happy for her return.
