Construction Update

Unfortunately, all the rain we've had the last few weeks has caused us to lose the time we had gained in getting ahead of schedule. So, we are back to the original construction schedule and we are no longer 5 weeks ahead.
  • The wall behind the stage in the worship center will now be taken out Monday, July 26 instead of this coming Monday. This means we will have our worship center as is for one more Sunday before we go to folding chairs and an acoustic music set for 4 months.
  • The new 1st floor restrooms will be ready to go and operational by the end of August.
  • There will soon be a small room in the back corner of the worship center. This will house the valve system related to the county's fire safety requirements. In the immediate future, the small room will be an eye sore, but when the worship center is finished, it wont be noticeable.

Here is a prayer request related to the construction project: the county is requiring us to have a much expanded water system. This means NEHBC is responsible for having a new water system drilled under West Lake Houston Pkwy to connect to the water system across the parkway. This is not a surprise and we knew about it and budgeted for it in the expansion project. However, we just heard there is a possiblity that the county is now going to change their requirements about the water system which would mean extra expense that we don't want to spend on piping under the parkway when we could be using it on our facility. Please pray that the cost of the water system situation will not be more than orginally expected.
