Cali is home and doing well. She does not have any broken bones, fractures or internal inujuries, praise God!
Yesterday early afternoon she fell from the second floor window onto the concrete below. She was on her knees on the bed that is under the window. She had raised the window to yell at our dog. I was in the room as well. she leaned forward and put her hands on the screen to try to see Mocha. The screen pushed out and she fell out. When I reached her she was unconcious. I breathed into her mouth and she coughed and went in and out of consciousness. We were about to have sign language class, I am so glad there were other mothers there to call 911 and Joel.
The paramedics immediately said life flight would have to take her to Hermann Memorial Emergency room. I rode in the ambulance to Crosby Community Church where we met life flight. In the ambulance she knew what had happened but she could not see me, her hand or anything else. This was very upsetting. I was not allowed to ride in the helicopter so Jennifer took me to the ER. When we got to the ER, Joel was already there with her. She was stable and she could see. At that point Joel knew that she did not have any broken bones from the x rays. We were waiting for CT scan which later revealed no skull or neck fractures; only a tiny bubble in her sinus cavity which could indicate a small fracture. She has a fairly large abrasion and bump with swelling on her forehead and right eye is swollen shut with bruising.
She was released around 8 last night. She has slept restlessly since then. She will wake up and watch a cartoon or color and then take a nap. She was able to eat a little bit around 1 today. Please continue to pray for Cali I know that prayer is the reason she is here right now doing this well. Carla
