I'm thoroughly enjoying our journey in Leviticus--even more than I thought I would. In this first section of the book we are in the sacrificial system where we are examining the different sacrifices: Burnt Offering, Grain Offering, Fellowship Offering, Sin Offering, etc. The sacrifices teach us the foundational principles about properly worshipping God. Here's what we have discovered so far:

1. Objective: the objective of biblical worship is the pleasure and satisfaction of God.
2. Motivation: the motivation of biblical worship is gratitude to God.
3. Intimacy factor: in biblical worship, the worshipper personally engages with God; worship isn't an empty religious ritual.
4. Cost: biblical worship comes at a cost to the worshipper; it's the cost of worship that demonstrates to God His worth.
5. Preparation: no worship is biblical if the worshipper is not first reconciled to God.

Come join us next Wednesday night as we examine the Guilt Offering.
