Jehovah Jireh--the God who provides

Houston's Rodeo and Livestock Show is big in the Lino house. Yesterday, Nicole and I took the kids down to the livestock show which bills itself as the biggest in the world. Not sure if it is or not, since Texans think everything we do is the biggest in the world, but it surely is many, many acres of animals, vehicles, food, carnival, demos, and the like.

As we try to do before we leave for a family day trip, we prayed and committed the day to the Lord, asking that we could be used as a witness, for protection, and we finished as always by asking the Lord to "put us in the right place at the right time to see the best things".

The kids really liked the food and the animals, but of course, when the kids saw the carnival rides they wanted to participate so we got tickets for the kids to do a couple of rides each. The kids were on their second and final ride when a lady just walked up to Nicole, handed her 75 tickets, and walked away. We have no idea who she was, but she gave our kids what amounted to 2 hours of all the rides they could handle.

The Lord works in mysterious ways. We would never have spent $37 to get the kids carnival ride tickets, but the Head of our household did. The kids were so blessed by the Lord and it was a tremendous teaching opportunity.

Thank you, Lord. We are grateful.

Nathan
