Today, I'm en route from Phoenix back to Houston. For the first time in a long time, I'm leaving the convention encouraged and pumped up, rather than simply glad it's over. Which is a great reminder that as go our two missions agencies so goes the mindset of the SBC. Our six seminaries are the machine that make us run, but the missions agencies are the face of who we are and symbolize what we are as Baptists. We are the people of the Book and the Blood. We exist to make disciples of all the peoples who do not yet believe. Our North American Mission Board (NAMB) and the International Mission Board (IMB) both have dynamic, annointed, new presidents with passion and vision. Fresh winds are blowing out the dysfunction and stale air. The new energy is contagious and this week overflowed to the entire convention. The Lord is beginning to do a new thing through the SBC. Glory to God.
