We heard live from the team during our worship services yesterday, but here is this morning's update from Pastor Tim:
"The team is having a great time and they are serving well together. The good news is…we have a Starbucks down the street from our hotel.
The movie event (Facing the Giants) went ok. Everyone showed up 15 to 20 minutes late, but that is typical in this people group according to Jason. Adam and I spent about 45 minutes calling adults and kids in off the streets as they passed by. We had about 20 come. We started the movie and served them as it played. Some ate and then left. When the movie was over we still had about 10 who stayed. Jason explained why we were there, told them about the church, shared a brief gospel presentation, and invited them to stay and ask us questions. We had meaningful conversations with them all before they left and passed out tracts and Our Daily Bread daily devotionals. Peggy shared the gospel with two women, the Storys interacted with two elderly women, Adam and I talked with a young man who had been in prison, was beaten by a guy with a machete which almost killed him, and who says he loves the Lord. We had 3 couples commit to come to Jason's bible study next Sunday, and Jason has contact info for everyone who attended so he can follow up with them all.
While this was happening, the Bentleys and some of the teens had a dozen or so kids in a game room. They played with them, helped them make gospel centered crafts, ate with them, and Randy gathered them together and shared the gospel with them. They did an amazing job.
Tomorrow we are going to a couple of communities to do door to door outreach. Keep praying for the team and I will try to upload videos soon."
