Sunday Morning Game Film

One of the things I've started doing on Monday mornings is to watch video of our Sunday morning worship services. Of course, it's not to revel in what went well, but rather an eye to how we can get better. I never want our services to become a production in the sense that we want to be professional performers who are more interested in the performance that the condition of our hearts. However, even with a focus on worshippers authentically gathering around the throne, it is important we do the very best we can because our worship service is in honor of Christ; it's to show Him worth. Thus, sloppiness is not good. Those of us on stage need to bring our best--every week.

It's why Scott is so picky with our musicians, why my acid reflux kicks in if we have technical difficulties or segues between worship service elements don't go well, and why I'm never happy with how my sermon went. It's not ok when we don't do our best.

I'm very grateful for how hard so many people work to make our worship services possible. I'm continually amazed at the commitment of so many to our congregation having great worship services. I'm grateful for the growing desire for excellence among those who make our services happen.

Glory to God.
