Annual Audit

Each year, NEHBC undergoes a full audit by an external firm. Our current contract is with PickenSnodgrass&Koch (PSK) out of Dallas. They are a large and reputable firm with much experience in non-profit, 501(c)3 organizations. They are here today and tomorrow with an all access pass to our business office where they review our financials, records, internal controls, and financial policies and procedures. They also perform risk assessments and such. In a couple of weeks, they will send to our trustees a full report on their opinion of our financial status.

NEHBC has voluntarily undergone an external audit every year that we have been in operation. This is not a fun two days for us in the office, but we do it because it's the right thing to do. We want to know that financially, we are squeaky clean and there is no funny business going on. As I like to tell people, NEHBC may be accused of things one day, but we will not have substantiated claims of financial indiscretion. We will do everything we can to be financially sound--including an annual physical by a top shelf, external audit firm.
