Finally...

Tomorrow, in the services, I will give our church family the heads up that in September, NEHBC's 7 year anniversary, I will be rolling out a large vision plan looking ahead to the next 10-15 years. This plan is big in scope and includes our identity (who we must become), our purpose (why we exist), and our vision--including how to make it a reality. So much work, planning, and prayer has gone into it and I'm chomping at the bit to roll this out. I'm so excited about this. Patience is not my strong suit and September 13, when the big rollout starts, is taking FOREVER to get here.

We are calling this a campaign--the Glory to God campaign. It is a campaign to communicate, invigorate, and begin incorporating this identity, purpose, and vision rollout in our church family. To be sure, a key component of the vision plan is the expansion of our building and we'll be talking about that one week and the related money issues, but this is so much bigger than our expansion project . . . this is our future.

While I wish we were kicking off the big rollout tomorrow, I'm settling for tossing out a teaser. Tomorrow in the services I'm going to take a couple of minutes to give our church family a heads up that this is coming in September so that we aren't all taken by surprise. Over the last few weeks, I've met one-on-one and in small groups with many leaders in our church to share this with them and give them the chance to ask questions. I've been encouraged by the reactions.

I'd like to ask you to begin praying about this with me. Would you please pray for our services in September and October? It is going to take me 4-6 weeks to do the rollout. Would you pray for our hearts and minds to be open, for protection from the enemy, and for the Holy Spirit to grip our hearts like never before. Pray, pray, and pray some more. This is a crucial moment in the life of our church family. May we experience a movement of God.

Nathan
