Greetings from Team Montana,
Our first day at the park was a great success. We had 26 kids attend on the
first day. There were children up to thirteen years of age. There were
plenty of photos taken during the day and we will share them soon when they
get all uploaded to computers. The team is working superbly together. The
theme of the day was the Creation Story and how "God Made a Way". The memory
verse was Romans 3:23.
We had a couple of special needs children at Camp today that I would like
everyone to pray for. Jaimie and Joshua are the adopted children of a local
lady who leaves the children at these events as free baby sitting. Since
they are special needs, they take quite a bit of special attention. They are
quite smart and love the memory verses using the sign language. We were
blessed today by having them.
Three other children came by today, Jakob 11 and his sister Sage and her
friend Madison. They were in the neighborhood and saw the fun the other
children were having but had to get home immediately. We gave them a spare
sandwich and a lemonade and an invitation to attend the rest of the week.
They are living with their father as the parents are recently divorced. We
pray that they will be able to come back.
One more interesting story about a child today. We had a first grade boy
Caleb show up with a home-crafted shirt that said in big letters "Watch me,
I like to Steal". It is a punishment by his parents because he has been
caught stealing on numerous occasions and the parents are at wits end on
what to do. He says he is hungry and just steals to eat, however the
pastor's wife indicates it is a much bigger problem.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) the theme is Noah and the Flood..."God Made a Way". The
memory verse is Romans 6:23. The songs and snacks will relate to the Noah
Story.
Thank the NEHBC family for keeping us covered in prayer.
