This Coming Sunday in NEHBC Worship

I'm very much looking forward to not only preaching this Sunday, but worshipping with my church family. I love NEHBC.

Before we get going in worship of our triune God, in light of the fact that it is July 4th weekend, we will express gratitude for how good America is to us as a church. This country is very good to God's churches--giving us the freedom and right to worship God, teach the bible, and advance the gospel. This country protects us from false religions that would love to burn our church down and cause physical harm to us b/c we are Christ-followers. This country even gives us tremendous privileges like allowing us to be a tax free entity and thus not pay property taxes or revenue taxes so that we can spend all the money we get on the Kingdom of God. For these blessings of protection, freedom, and special privileges, we as a church are very, very grateful to the United States. We will spend time in prayer for our country.

Two highlights from the worship portion of our gathering: 1. We will commission out Team Montana. They are headed to Livingston to serve a church plant next week. 2. The sermon will be from Psalm 18:1-26 as we consider exactly what it is we are supposed to be trusting about God when we say we trust Him with our personal problems. If you are really struggling with a personal problem, God is going to help us understand how to think about what we are facing. This would be a great Sunday to bring a friend who is bitter at the Lord for the way something has worked out in their life--they will get answers to their questions.

We have worked hard in planning Sunday's services to provide an environment that will give Christ-followers an optimal opportunity to encounter God. God revealed through His only begotten Son, Jesus, revealed through the Scriptures to God's people. I pray we encounter God together.

Glory to God.
