I'm looking forward to continuing our Church Life series tonight with part
two of church membership. When both the body and the individual have a
biblical understanding of church membership, one's membership has a
tremendous spiritual benefit to the Christ follower. In today's church
culture, the idea of church membership is meaningless. If you ask somebody
why they should be a church member, the answer will somehow tie into voting.
It is tragic that we have lost the meaning of membership in our churches
today-much of the conflict in our churches is due to a lost understanding of
membership as is much of the individualism we see in today's version of
Christianity. At NEHBC, we are trying to do things differently. We must
restore a proper understanding of the church. We are attempting to do so in
part through the Church Life series. I invite you to join us for this series
as we seek to better understand this amazing concept of the church that was
born in the very mind of God. Wednesdays, 7pm.
